New crowdfunding campaign launched for comics museum in Sicily

Fumettomania Factory, based in Barcellona Pozzo di Gotto, Messina in Sicily, co-ordinated by Mario Benenati, have just launched their new crowdfunding project for a new comics museum in Sicily.

They are hoping to open a new Museum, offering a better welcome for visitors, young people, school groups, supporters, who will be able to stop to consult archive material, study, meet authors, participate in workshops and much more, in an environment located in the city centre, that’s both welcoming and dedicated to developing cultural and personal growth activities.

The Fumettomania Factory team with author Marco Sonseri and Director Professor Francesca Canale and the teachers of the IC “Bastiano Genovese”, who this year realised with a reading project dedicated to legality and the fight against the Mafia

Fumettomania Factory have been re-running some downthetubes items in Italian on their website with our full permission for a while now and they do great work promoting comics in general.

The project is the result of the work and commitment of the Fumettomania Factory over the last nine years. The Library and Museum will offer many activities, with different thematic areas, two of which will be dedicated to two different personalities from the world of comics dear to the Association, writer Luigi Bernardi, and artist Luca Boschi.

If you have time, please check out the crowdfunding page, in Italian – “Barcellona Pozzo di Gotto: Un Nuovo Spazio per la Biblioteca del Fumetto” (“Barcelona Pozzo di Gotto: A New Space for the Comics Library”)
