A crowdfunder to support a local business which was hit by a tragic loss after the devastating fire on Tomatin Road in Inverness on Thursday has been launched.
The owner of the popular cafe Blend on Drummond Road in the city centre, Gemma Taylor, appealed for the help of the community after they had to remain closed after a fire ravaged her home.
Andy Adams, the father of her daughter Rebecca, lost his life in the blaze.
A friend helped her set up the crowdfunded as the business has since lost crucial income in the past three days, as well as losing most of its perishable stock.
On the crowdfunding page she said: “We’ve lost three days of trading already, as any small business in a tourist town knows, these days are vital in summer to keep the place going.
“In addition we’ve lost most of the perishable stock and all my baking supplies/equipment etc. Unfortunately business insurance doesn’t cover the entire loss of home and bereavement.
“Following the suggestion of others I have set up this page for Blend (there is a separate personal fund page). “Even if we could cover the loss of trade these past few days that would be a massive help. Thanks again for all the messages and comments, they are all seen and appreciated.”
