Bruce Springsteen latest celeb to jump on Harris-Walz bandwagon with endorsement

Vice President Kamala Harris and Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz can add the voice of a blue collar generation to their list of presidential campaign supporters as the Garden State’s own Bruce Springsteen shared on social media that he intends to vote for the Democrats.

While sitting at the counter in a diner, the 75-year-old Springsteen said in a nearly three minute long video that he is supporting Harris and Walz, the Democratic presidential and vice presidential nominees, over Republican nominee Donald Trump because they are “committed to a vision of this country that respects and includes everyone, regardless of class, religion, race, your political point of view or sexual identity.”

He called former President Donald Trump the “most dangerous candidate for president” in his lifetime and said Trump’s “disdain for the sanctity of our Constitution, the sanctity of democracy, the sanctity of the rule of law and the sanctity of the peaceful transfer of power should disqualify him from the office of president ever again” because he “doesn’t understand the meaning of this country, its history or what it means to be deeply American.”

Springsteen acknowledged that his opinions are no more important than anyone else’s but that his vote is “one of the most precious possessions” he has so he is casting it for the Harris-Walz ticket.

“We are shortly coming upon one of the most consequential elections in our nation’s history,” he said. “Perhaps not since the Civil War has this great country felt as politically, spiritually and emotionally divided as it does then at this moment.”

The Jersey Shore native said Harris and Walz want to “grow our economy in a way that benefits all not just the few, like me, on top” which is the vision of America he’s “been consistently writing about for 55 years now.”

He stressed that the national divide “doesn’t have to be this way” and that the common values that “make us a great and united nation are waiting to be rediscovered and retold once again.”

Springsteen acknowledged it would take “time, hard work, intelligence, faith and women and men, with the national good guiding their hearts.”

“America’s most powerful nation on earth… because of what she stands for, what she means, what she believes in, freedom, social justice, equal opportunity, the right to be and love who you want,” he said. “These are the things that make America great.”

Springsteen is the latest celebrity to endorse either Harris or Trump during this presidential campaign season.

Taylor Swift formally announced her plan to vote for Vice President Kamala Harris in November in the form of an Instagram post on Tuesday night, shortly after the conclusion of the presidential debate between Harris and former President Donald Trump.

Trump has also received his fair share of celebrity endorsements, including Kid Rock and Hulk Hogan.
