Bella Hadid
Bella Hadid was spotted stepping out in New York City wearing the *most* stunning vintage Dior see-through nude dress. Featuring 3D butterfly appliqués on the bodice with ruched detailing at one hip, the skirt was perfectly finished with a fringed hem any 1920s flapper girl would be envious of. The design was originally debuted in the spring 2004 Christian Dior collection when John Galliano was ironically at the fashion house’s helm. Paired with nude mule sandals and a dainty diamond necklace, Bella looks simply breathtaking. Cue actual swoon.
Carey Mulligan
For the 2024 Oscars, Carey Mulligan stunned in a black strapless mermaid gown complete with white tulle hem and matching black opera gloves. Nominated for Best Actress at the Academy Awards for her role as Felicia Montealegre Bernstein, the wife of conductor Leonard Bernstein played by Bradley Cooper in Maestro, the dress is fittingly elegant for the occasion and packed with hidden meaning.
A recreation of an archival Balenciaga look – the first time the fashion house has remade a look from its archives for the red carpet – the original design dated from 1951, the same year that Felicia and Leonard married. A beautiful tribute, so is it any wonder it came from the brain of Andrew Mukamal, the same stylist responsible for Margot Robbie’s iconic Barbie press tour looks?
Miley Cyrus in Bob Mackie
After winning her first Grammy for Best Pop Solo Performance for her hit song ‘Flowers’, Miley Cyrus took to the stage to perform the anthem in a vintage Bob Mackie design we haven’t stopped thinking about since, tbh. From the designer’s 2002 To Broadway With Love collection, the dress combined sequins, cut-outs and fringing to make one heck of a statement. Obsessed.

Megan The Stallion in Paco Rabanne
Megan Thee Stallion attended The Hollywood Reporter And Jimmy Choo Power Stylists Dinner with Law Roach (Zendaya’s stylist and vintage lover) and, of course, her ‘fit was out of this world. For the occasion, the artist arrived in a champagne gold vintage co-ord set by Paco Rabanne, and it’s giving major Studio 54 glam.
Megan shared the look on Instagram with the caption, “We had this SS 1997 @pacorabanne sitting in the closet waiting for the perfect moment! Love you @luxurylaw thank you @juliendossena”
Kylie Jenner in Mugler
To celebrate the CFDAs, Kylie Jenner opted for a vintage style that’s almost as old as she is. The one-shoulder and single sleeve Thierry Mugler design date back to 1999, but here it looks as chic as ever. The delicate bodice detailing makes the dress appear as though it’s sheer, but on closer inspection, it’s more of an optical illusion. Also, how amazing is that thigh-high leg slit?
Kylie’s dress, previously worn on the 1999 runway
Here’s the dress on the Thierry Mugler autumn/winter 1999-2000 runway accessorised with a massive silver necklace and, just like Kylie, a sleek updo.

Zendaya in Bob Mackie
Zendaya was honoured as an “Innovator” on the TIME’s 100 Most Influential People of 2022 list, and TBH, we’d expect nothing less. For the celebratory Gala, her stylist Law Roach chose a special vintage Bob Mackie gown from 1998. Doesn’t she look regal? If the designer Bob Mackie rings a bell, it’s because he sketched Marilyn Monroe’s famous Jean Louie dress that Kim Kardashian wore to the 2022 Met Gala. Talk about a star-studded look.
Iris Law in Versace
Iris Law just stepped out at London Fashion Week wearing an incredible archive Versace piece from 2003. The dress, which features an ornate corset front piece on the front along with a handkerchief-hem, is almost as old as its wearer, coming in at 19 years old compared to Iris, who is 21. Scroll through to see another famous fan of the look.
Iris’s dress, previously worn by Beyoncé
Yep, that’s right – Beyoncé herself wore the same Versace piece when it first came out at the 2003 MTV Movie Awards. Unlike Iris, who teamed the look with a buzzcut and minimal jewellery, Bey opted for a statement necklace and a high ponytail with loose, face-framing strands (a very 2000s vibe, might we add).

Zendaya in Valentino
Zendaya, queen of red carpet vintage fashion moments, served YET ANOTHER look at the Euphoria premiere overnight. For her latest red carpet appearance, the star opted for a vintage black and white striped boob tube style dress from Valentino’s 1992 spring/summer collection. Amazing, right?
Well, did ya know, this exact dress was worn by a very famous ’90s supermodel: Linda Evangelista (who also sported red hair with the look)? Scroll down to see the OG number.

Here’s Linda sporting the designer dress, opting for matching statement earrings. Ah, we love to see how celebs style the same look, decades apart.
Bella Hadid in Jean Paul Gaultier
Bella Hadid walked the red carpet at the 2021 Cannes Film Festival wearing a reworked look from Jean Paul Gaultier’s haute couture spring/summer 2002 collection. As it happens, Naomi Campbell debuted the original semi-sheer halterneck design down the runway almost two decades ago.

Zendaya in Versace
Zendaya paid homage to Beyoncé with her 2021 BET Awards outfit choice: an archive Versace number with a striking resemblance to one previously worn by Bey to the same event in 2003.
Rihanna in John Galliano
Y2K nostalgia is real, folks, and Rihanna’s very pink (and totally extra) get-up, worn in New York City, is a case in point. While the fluffy hat is a retro mood in its own right, her matching semi-sheer slip dress is a vintage John Galliano design from Dior’s 2002 collection.
Kylie Jenner in Jean Paul Gaultier
Kylie Jenner attended the Annual Parson’s Benefit with Travis Scott and Stormi Webster, wearing a particularly memorable vintage outfit: a forest green bodycon dress with cone bra detailing, designed by Jean Paul Gaultier in 1987. Yep, the look is actually older than her!

Bella Hadid in Roberto Cavalli
Bella Hadid. Cannes. Vintage. You know the drill. Here she is at the 2019 Film Festival sporting a scarlet red Roberto Cavalli gown with a thigh-high split, asymmetrical neckline and cut-out detailing. Originally from the label’s spring 2005 show, this dress has actually been worn to Cannes multiple times, last in 2013 by Sharon Stone, and now by Bella, with the number featuring slightly updated details around the neckline.
Rihanna in Gucci
For an outing in LA earlier this year, Rihanna wore a pair of Tom Ford era Gucci jeans from the house’s spring/summer 1999 ready-to-wear collection. RiRi finished the look with a matching (and equally extra) floofy hat, a white tee and stilettos.
