Cultivated beef company Mosa Meat has quickly exceeded its crowdfunding goal, securing €1.5 million in just 24 minutes. Within a day, the campaign had reached more than 150% of its target, attracting over 800 new investors. The campaign will remain open until February 25 or until the maximum funding threshold is met. And as of right now, the company has raised over €2.5 million.
“This campaign is about inclusivity; allowing those who support us to help shape the future of food alongside us”
The newly raised funds will be used to complete the final stages of research and development ahead of restaurant sales, support marketing efforts for the company’s first product launch, and finance the production of the first cultivated beef burgers intended for sale.
CEO Maarten Bosch stated that the initiative was launched in response to ongoing interest from individuals wanting to invest in the company. “In the past years, thousands of people have asked how they can invest in Mosa Meat. This crowdfunding campaign is making it possible for early fans to really become part of the Mosa Meat journey.
“We are very excited that after receiving support from institutional investors, governments, meat producers, and regulators, we can now also offer more consumers to join us on our mission,” Bosch said.

Investor interests surges post-filing
This crowdfunding effort follows Mosa Meat’s €40 million institutional funding round in 2024. While the company has secured sufficient capital for its next phase, it sought to include individual supporters in its growth.
Mosa Meat is currently advancing through the regulatory approval process in both the EU and Singapore. In recent months, the company held the first official cultivated beef tasting in Europe and submitted an application for EU market authorization for cultivated fat.
Bosch noted that demand for investment opportunities increased significantly following the company’s submission of its regulatory dossier to the European Union. “The sheer volume of investment requests we received after news broke that we submitted our regulatory dossier in the European Union was astounding. So, this campaign is about inclusivity; allowing those who support us to help shape the future of food alongside us,” he said.
