Lymow One is a Wheeless, Boundary-Free Robot Lawn Mower any Thief Dare not Steal

Regardless of whether we own a lawn mower, the reality is that robotic grass trimmers are a dime a dozen these days. Whether from a US company or a Swedish manufacturer, these robotic lawnmowers are all over the retail shelves and e-commerce sites. They all boast the same prowess as their counterparts and competitors, so where’s the USP?

Lymow, a progressive tech company specializing in yard care recognizes this and has ensured that its lawn-mowing robot stands out in numerous ways. Previously unveiled at CES 2024, Lymow is now testing the ‘Lymow One’ through a Kickstarter campaign, which has garnered significant support from backers and achieved a successful crowdfunding run. So, what’s driving the excitement that has made this campaign so popular?

Well, it’s the unique design and innovative technology that differentiate the Lymow One from the competition. Unlike traditional mowers that rely on wheels, the Lymow One uses caterpillar treads for movement. This ensures that the lawn mower can not only tackle any terrain but also overcome random obstacles with ease.

Lymow One features an innovative floating deck that can handle slopes up to 45 degrees and navigates obstacles like branches without getting stuck. This is possible courtesy of the mower’s AI-powered obstacle avoidance system that intelligently detects and maneuvers around obstacles, ensuring a hassle-free mowing experience. Whether it’s a garden hose or a sprinkler, the Lymow One adapts to its environment, preventing physical damage.

Another aspect where the lawn mower shines is the accurate mapping of the area. Akin to robotic vacuum cleaners, this lawn mower relies on ‘cutting-edge RTK-VSLAM navigation technology’ that helps the owner ensure that Lymow One does precise positioning without the need for boundary wires. “By utilizing visual data, inertial measurement units (IMUs), and wheel encoders, it can efficiently map out its mowing area after a single boundary guide,” mentions the company.

Technology-wise, Lymow One features the patented LyCut blades that distinguish Lymow One from other mowers in the market. The dual LyCut blades offer a cutting width of 16 inches and are engineered to slash even the toughest grass types. Additionally, the lawn mower boasts a customizable cutting height ranging from 1.2 to 4 inches, so that users can achieve their desired lawn appearance.

For ease of use, the Lymow One is compatible with a dedicated smart app, allowing users to manage mowing tasks, set no-go zones, adjust cutting heights, and schedule operations directly from their smartphones, even if they are miles away from their homes. Safety and security are paramount with lawn mowers and Lymow doesn’t seem to compromise in any way. Security is enhanced with anti-theft measures, including a geofencing alarm and GPS tracking, ensuring that users can monitor the mower’s location at all times.

One common problem with lawnmowers has always been their poor battery backup. However, what Lymow conceals inside its robust construction is a high-capacity LiFePO4 battery known for its durability and reliability, alongside a brushless motor with a lifespan of up to 10,000 hours. Not to mention, automatic recharging and intelligent rain detection, which makes Lymow One built to operate efficiently in various conditions.

As aforementioned, the Lymow One is currently enjoying a successful crowdfunding campaign on Kickstarter and comes with optional add-ons, such as specialized blades for challenging terrains.
