Skybound's Latest Crowdfunding Campaign Aims to Raise Money to Develop a New Invincible Game - IGN

Skybound Entertainment has announced a crowdfunding campaign to develop a new game set in the Invincible universe.

Skybound said the funds will be used to develop a triple-A title based on the comic book series created by Robert Kirkman. The campaign, which launched today, has already surpassed its fundraising goal of $50,000, with over $450,00 currently raised at the time of writing. The campaign is scheduled to conclude on April 30.

“We are thrilled to launch this Regulation Crowdfunding campaign on Republic, inviting fans to join us on this new expansion and venture,” CEO of Skybound Entertainment David Alpert said. “At Skybound, we prioritize fostering meaningful connections with our audience, and this initiative allows fans to not only immerse themselves in the world of Invincible but also to directly contribute to its expansion.”

This new Invincible video game is to be developed by an internal 30-person studio consisting of industry vets previously employed at studios including Activision Blizzard, EA, and Epic Games.

This is not the first video game set in the Invincible universe. Other projects include the visual novel RPG Invincible Presents: Atom Eve, Invincible: Guarding the Globe, and the Unreal Editor for Fortnite (UEFN) experiences Doc Seismic Attacks, GDA Combat Training, and Rise of the Sequids.

The announcement comes weeks after the Invincible TV series released its season 2 finale. Though Prime Video has yet to share a release window for the third season, we know that voice acting is already completed.

In our review of the second season of Invincible, IGN wrote: “Invincible’s second season features far less Omni-Man than the first, but he looms large over each episode’s rigorous family drama.”
